Took delivery of the new Versa 7/10/10 and now, 7/12/10, it's in the shop for a Check Engine light on, warped brake rotors, and the A/C compressor is gone. Great impression of Nissan quality after trading in a Titan that was plagued with mechanical issues.
07/13/10 - I just picked up the car from the dealer. I've only driven about 25 miles post-repair. The brakes are substantially better, the compressor doesn't cycle nearly as much and the air seems to maintain 'cold' better, and the Check Engine light was attributed to the make-ready not properly closing the fuel tank cap (I'm skeptical about this diagnosis, but I am taking into consideration the evap-emission standards in place on newer vehicles and that other users have had the same diagnosis). Time will tell. At the current time, things look to be handled properly. I'll post another update in about 200 miles and see if things are still on track.
07/19/10 - Post road-trip of 800 miles. No problems to report. Car was performing top-notch and averaged 31.4 mpg overall with the majority of the miles being highway, and approx. 100 miles of city/stop-go traffic. Hwy speeds between 75-80 w/ A/C on.
