When something like an accident occurs and then you begin to have problems, it's usually not a coincidence. So I would be looking at all the wiring in the area of the accident, something isn't quite right.
Recently my brother had a deer run into the side of his Subaru. No damage to see. Even the deer shook it off and ran away. Later that day his car started running rough. He brought it down for me to look at and I eventually found that one of the plug wires on the same side of the engine as the deer strike had broken. Did the deer hit the wire? Nope, but it got a good jarring. Complete set of new plugs and wires and he's back in business. Yeah I could have replaced just the wire, but they were old anyway.
