We have had a leaky back hatch since we had the vehicle. I took it to the dealer the first time and they said the could not get the incident to happen again. After notincing it the second time I brought it in and they said that they figrued it out it was a leaky back glass and had that replaced. Well in Oklahoma we are getting a pretty good rain and guess what. The leak is back.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so what fixed it?

Also, does anyone know if this is an ongoing problem will it be covered after warranty if it shows up after they "fix" it again?

Keep all of your paperwork, document everything. Take it back to the dealer, tell him/her this isn't the first time you have had a problem with it and you'd appreciate a resolution.

mainstang,

I had a similar issue with my '08. Yours might be the same:

The source of the leak is NOT from a bad glass seal but from the 3rd brake light. Either the gasket has failed or the light housing is not seating correctly. The fix is to replace both the 3rd brake light assembly and the gasket.

You can verify the source of the leak by pulling the interior trim piece behind the brake light and look for leaks. Ideally a helper can hose the area with water while you inspect from the inside with a flashlight. Mine usually showed up as water trickling down the inside of the glass

BTW, I would not attempt to do this repair yourself. The gasket has adhesive and it requires special tools to remove without damaging anything. Have the dealer replace it.
