Hi Guys,

I was at the dealership for oil change at 34k for my 2010 Rogue, I am a city driver with no long trips. the dealer recommended to change the serpentine belt. can you guys share your experience at what mileage you got it changed or at what mileage it should be changed.

Thanks you.

Looks like you missed this post as well: serpentine-belt-and-cvt-change-t556523.html#p6318247

The ribs will wear down evenly and can look good but when compared with a new belt you will see that they have significant wear. Also the rubber gets old and cracks as your service guys report, but you're generally good for 5 to 7 years with typical driving. I always try to error on the side of caution especially if you're long highway road trips (i.e. you don't want to get stranded) and I change mine generally about every 5 years.

rubber is rubber; there is no age, mileage, nor time limit on rubber parts.
everyone's can fail at a different times. rubber degrades at different rates. someone who does 150,000miles on the highway with cool incoming air - is going to have the best last longer than the guy sitting in city traffic and not having cool air incoming onto the belt(rubber parts).

I have a 2010 Nissan Rogue and keep having trouble with the serpentine belt. The belt seems to be on too tight. I've replaced the idler pulley, alternator pulley, ac compressor and still can't find the problem. I'm using the Dayco 5060710, but it keeps coming off. I have to turn the tensioner all the way, and I'm still having trouble sliding the belt on. Does anyone have any clue what's going? Thanks

We have an incredible SEARCH feature on this forum. Merged with existing thread.

IIRC the system is temperamental and the OEM part works without any issues. Try using an OEM belt rather than a 3rd party knock-off.

My guess would be your Drive belt auto-tensioner. When you replaced it did you check if it was the exact same as the OEM?

There is a grove at the automatic tensioner pulley that must be aligned properly.
