Just about every ballast for a Japanese brand comes out of a Matsushita plant in China or elsewhere in the Far East, so by and large the aftermarket ones are fine. Make sure you get an ignitor with it (the steel socket and steel-jacketed wire), they fail about as often as the ballasts do. Sometimes the ballasts on the passenger side can be changed out from beneath the car by pulling back the inner wheel well cover and dropping the washer tank, but frankly it's almost as much work as popping the bumper skirt to remove the headlight, and it may not let you swap the ignitor.
