2010 rear seat room in my 2009?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I picked up an 09 EX35 a couple weeks ago. It was built in August, so a pretty recent build.

I noticed the backs of the front seats have knee cut outs for the rear seat leg room. I had read this was going to happen for 2010. But maybe I misunderstood.Do all current EX35s have this, or just late build 09s?

I am attaching pictures taken on my phone with bad lighting. So it is probably hard to see here. I can try to take them again with my regular camera after the battery is charged.

My wife's new EX was built in July and the back molding of the front seat has the ripple or indentions in it, which is what I assume your are talking about when you say cut-outs. But they are there and it definitely looks like they would give an extra 1/2 inch of leg room for the knees.

My early 09 has the same indent in the seat backs. I think all 09's have this. Last week I had four adults in my car for four days of driving, the guys in the front and the ladies in the back, everyone was comfortable, no room to spare but it worked just fine, I was impressed with how well the car handled and performed fully loaded, it ran real well. Very happy with our 09 EX35.

OK. So it sounds like it was standard on 09s. What about the 08s?

The way everyone was talking, this was going to be a feature on the 10s. But maybe we already had it in the 09s.

My 2008 (actually the build date of mine is 11/2007) has the same indentations.

Ok, now that we know the 08/09 are the same, does anyone know if they put the promised indents in the back of the front seats for the 2010? I can't tell from anything online.

Thanks

seeing as how there are no 2010 orders being fulfilled yet, we do not have an answer to this yet.

What a joke... indents in the Seats to give the Guys in the Back 2 more inches.

It's a good thing we bought it... as a 2 Seater.

I like the Bare-Foot Print in one of the Pictures above.

uhmmm...dum question, how do you post pictures?

Anyways, there really aren't that many differences, I have the NAV package, in Canada there's only 4 different trim types I believe, the heat warmers is a knob now instead of the buttons, they don't include the cover anymore.

The night I brought the EX home, my boys were so excited, they climbed in the back seats and checked out everything! But they were having a blast. They got their dusty little feet on my back seats. But that's ok, it's hard plastic and wipes right off.

To post a picture you need to host it somewhere. I use Google Picasa online: picasaweb.google.com. Then you use the IMG tags to link to it.

I had a G35S before this. It had the toggle switches for the heated seats. BUT, it didn't have a different light for both High and Low. So when I got the EX, that was an upgrade!

But then I drove a G37x while I had my EX at the dealer for window tinting and it had the knobs. So I guess they are slowly migrating all the cars to that style. It actually appears to have 5 different settings instead of just High and Low.

Oh, I thought I could actually post them here.

For the heat there's actually 6 settings.

I couldn't get a good picture of the usb port but it the compartment is exactly the same as the old EX's but obviously with a usb port instead of the other one.

Looks good. Too bad there wasn't a USB retrofit for 08/09s.

Anyone notice that the Flash Card Port is no longer?

Looks like you're missing some Buttons on your Steering Wheel, too.

Is yours fully loaded... or not ?

cyberdeath... we'll see you around Town, sometime.

So is it still High and Low Heat for the Seats ?

What is this "Cover" you speak of ?

Is your Car a "Journey Trim Level" ?

Yes, there is no flash card port, I don't have the tech package but otherwise loaded.

There is no high/low for the seats, six different adjustments via a dial.

The cover is the cargo cover (you know the one that pulls over top of everything).

Nav trim level, so everything minus the tech stuff.

The Wife won't allow me to have the Tint installed.

It's her Car.

I might have to sneak it away and have it done.

I cannot imagine NOT having a Cargo Cover.

Can it be added ?

We use ours, all the time.

They probably just don't include it for free now. As a cost cutting method. I'md sure you can still get on.

Deleting the cargo cover from a crossover in this price range--I'm surprised. Thanks for the heads up, I didn't think to check this when entering the features list in my database.
