Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jon and i just purchased a 2010 QX56 with 8k miles and the 4x4 option with nav etc... Got it for 48k out the door including a 2 year service plan, did I do well?

My real question is whether anyone has taken the QX/Armada to Pismo Beach or Glamis in California. I am a previous owner of a Range Rover Sport HSE and that car ate the dunes for breakfast, no issues. My concern is regarding the weight of the truck and how far i can actually push it in sand. Getting stuck on the dunes and being pulled out is a b****, especially in heavier cars that most others can't help pull out. Also, if anyone tows toys off road can you tell me a little about how it handles and if the combination of off road with towing gave you any headaches. Suggestion and recommendations are welcome. Thank you.

I am in Wisconsin, so I can't say I have had it there, but it handles awesome in snow, and had it off road in Michigan's U.P. on a way to a backpack hiking trip along Lake Superior. Driving along cliffs was pretty cool, especially with Navigation and satellite radio!
