Check this out, the European Rogue, the Qashqai is getting a facelift for 2010, this seems pretty unexpected to me. Also, there is a new "Green" powertrain option, a "Pure Drive" clean diesel. It's also interesting to note that this vehicle is one of the best sellers in Europe, whereas the Rogue in North America seems to have had only modest success. Here's an interesting link:

Since the Qashqai hit the market one year before the Rogue, it is on schedule for us to get a facelift next year as planned.

As far as the 1.5 liter diesel engine, don't dream too much about it when you read on this forum all day long that 170hp is not enough for the Rogue, that it NEEDS a V6 option, and other comments like that. The diesel engine (popular in Europe, 60% of the sale compare to .. here?) gives 106hp. Try to sell that idea on the forum first .

As for the success, you should come here in Montreal, you will see more Rogue on the road than any other SUV, Murano included. It is not fun anymore!!

Yeah so the Qashqai facelift is a good indication that the Rogue will get one next year (2011 model) too. And I agree, the 106 hp small diesel would not sell here, most people still think that a V6 is better, and even the large 2.5 4 cylinder is considered "small" by some. Maybe in a few years when gasoline gets really expensive again will people realize that the opposite is true, that they need a 4 cylinder and that a 4 is better than 6 because modern 4's offer great performance AND excellent economy (purchase price lower and fuel efficiency) AND less impacts on the environment. But we in North America still hold to the old idea that more is better, 6 is better than 4.....one day we'll wake up I suppose.

what about Rogue Krom? Isn't it getting a new front? Today I looked at Rogue 360 AWD and it is nothing more than just S Rogue with partial SL package.

It's too bad we don't see many modern diesels in North America. The 1.5L makes as much torque as the Rogue's 2.5... and the available 2.0 diesel produces as much torque as Nissan's 3.5 V-6! If you have never driven a modern turbo diesel, you don't know what you are missing.

I wanted a Diesel when I was car shopping. There aren't any non-german diesels out there. Someday NA drivers will accept it.

Maybe I will just get my Rogue converted to run on CNG

Agreed!

I salivate at the thought of a 105 hp Rogue, with >200 lb/ft of torque - that sips even less fuel than our current cars do.

Stupid North American market - its gonna force me to buy a German car soon

I just looked up the 2L turbo, 280 lb/ft (320Nm) of torque -

The Jetta TDI engine is 2.0L 140hp, 236 lbs-ft. torque. and gives 42mpg hwy
