We just bought a 2010 Nissan Versa hatchback S. I just want to verify that the passenger airbag light is working the same as everyone elses. It never seems to be different. Since it senses whether someone is there or not and turns itself off or on, I would expect the lights to be different to tell me whether it is on or off. When the car is started, whether someone is in the seat or not, the passenger airbag light and the word off both light. They then turn off. They tell me this lets me know it has done its sensing. What it doesn't tell me whether it did it right! Does your car do the same?

Does anyone know if a scangaugeII can clear this problem? I know it can clear MIL's but will it fix this too?

i get this problem at the dealership all the time with the newer nissan products. ok the light only illuminates if there is a weight in the seat of a small child to let you know the airbag is not on because they dont meet the weight requirement of an air bag. if no one is in the seat it doesnt need to warn you. also someone said they have an airbag light on you have to clear the code with the computer you cant clear it yourself.
