Post

Hello everybody! I hope I can find some solution/suggestion.
Here is a situation. On 2010 Nissan Versa 1.8 S trim(HB) they put back door(hatchback) from SL trim with rear hatch request switch(small black button right above the handle. Everything is working, lights, wipers, signals...
But, I cannot lock and unlock the hatchback with the mechanical key . I mean, when I am locking/unlocking with the key, all 4 doors are locking/unlocking, BUT the hatchback. In other words, when I lock 4 doors, I can open hatchback by pushing a release button under the handle. I am just wondering if there is a way to fix it, so when I lock with the mechanical key ALL 5 doors would lock. I am thinking to install alarm in hope that will fix this issue, but not sure if that is the right way. I do not mind to do it by myself, so I am open to any suggestion..
Thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome to NICO!

Does your key fit into the keyhole in the hatchback lid? And does it unlock your hatch? If so, you don't really have an 'issue', you have a desire for custom work. If not, then there is an issue with your key setup.

I think what you are referring to is a custom wiring job. If I understand correctly, you want your 5 doors to open/ unlock when you use your key in the drivers door? Well, your car doesn't currently do that. But you could make it do that if you're smart with electronics. You'd be getting into your wires and might want a wiring diagram to see what goes where. The FSM would have a lot of that information for you. An alarm by itself would not do this, but again, you'd be into the wires and that's when you could customize them.
