350 prices have sunk a lot lately, and I'm seriously considering one when I graduate, but with this around, I'll have trouble justifying it. Shorter and wider, more powerful, and pretty hot (though I have a huge soft spot for bump-hood 350s), I'm just not sure I could have the less focused model...

i like it alot. even the interior. only thing i dont like is the cut off flat spot fenders. if they faded the lip down alot more it would look nicer. I hate how all companies seem to be doing this now does like someone else said. Maybe you could fender roll it out lol.

It could just be the angle, but something looks odd about the front end.

Looks like it sits higher then the back?

The wheel arches don't attract that much attention from the eye. The interior is a little busy and the tail lights could be better, but apart from that, I'd hit it.
I've seen better magazine sketches to be honest.

Nobody seems to know how to make a sexy car anymore.

the wheel wells are bigger in front thats whats trickin ya. all cars are like this, but those flat spots on the fenders exagarte them i think.

Audi and Cadillac do! All is not lost; only most.

Part of that may come from the odd line that carries forward from the rear of the rocker panels. It raises the front visually compared to the rear, especially with shadow cast the way it is in those pictures.

I don't think the 350 falls into that category. We'll see though, you never know what car companies are thinking these days...
That is a good point. Hopefully Nissan uses this logic then, although they didn't listen with the GT-R...

Also, just looking at the picture in the original post, I think a black one would be damn sexy.

I think this is one of those cars that you say you don't like until you see it on the road a few times and gain an acquired taste for its design and come to like it. I think it will grow on a lot of you.

The silhouette is very nice. The details (lights) need a redo.

I get the feeling that the details will look less fussy in person, similar to the Maxima and the GT-R.

I love the car. Sure I'd have done a few things differently... but I love it anyway.

They fixed the one issue I had with the 350z... it's not lean and muscular. The 350z is too balloon shaped and has a belt line that is too high.

The new model is a lot sharper, looks smaller and stronger.

I love the rear 1/4 window and the sharp angle and rake of the roof line. It's very Datsun!!! That rocks!

As for the front bumper.. yuck.. No worries.. we'll have some nice aftermarket options to cure that. Honestly though.. a nice lip would help a ton.

I think a good sports car body line has to have some forward lean to it. A nicely designed sports car can't look like it's about to jump up into the air. The current pics of the car look like the front is taking off. A nice lip on the underside of the front bumper would help lower the front end and give a nice raked forward look.

The headlights are ugly if you just look at the headlights. Same as the new Maxima. Just focusing on the headlights is not attractive at all. But, as with the Maxima, when you incorporate the headlight design into the rest of the car.... it works! They are ugly by themselves, but they enhance the rest of the body lines and improve the overall product.

The wheels.. yeah.. pretty ugly!

What I really love is that you can go two different directions with this car if you decide to heavily mod it. You can go modern and put some Volk or other high end modern 19 or 20" wheels on it with some stretched tires and camber, lower the car on coilovers, and maybe pop a spoiler on the back (depending on your taste). OR..You could go retro with the car. Like Greg said... Some Watanabe's and fender mirrors along with some striping and a BRE logo would be so freaking hot!!!

Plus, all appearance aside... I realy like the formula of increasing horsepower and decreasing weight. That's always a win!

It's a great car with great potential.

Looks like a Nissan Crossfire.

I still think the Z32 is the best looking Z.

Is the motor the vq37hr from the G37? If so I'd assume the aftermarket would be similar to the newer 350z's with the HR motor. Some parts might even be swappable?

Looks like the 09 Altima and a Porshe Carrera had hate sex.

Does look more Datsun Roadster'ish but not my cup'o tea.

The sillohuette is nice. The body lines aren't. The front end appears somewhat bulged (a la BMW Z4), but it seems to be mostly because of the droop in the rear of the door windows. A straighter line there would likely have yielded a more proportioned look. Of course the photo could be making it worse, but this is the second photo I've seen that appears this way to me.

The lights are just odd. Most notbaly that there is an inside angle on the outide. Couple that with what appears to be a rounded edge coupled with some rather sharp angles and it just doesn't look like it belongs. Further, rather then trying to integrate the bumper covers with the body, they created a visual sepration by introducing a line from the lights into the same line as the covers. I've had cars built out of Legos look more seamless. The profile shows plenty of potential. But unfortunately, based on photos, its not all that appealing to me.

The interior looks pretty sharp though. Of course, without the burnt orange. I'll take one in charcoal leather though.

I think mchedaddi needs to Photochop it with some 20" Watanabe's, fender mirrors, and some Datsun striping.

Where is he anyway?
Here's one minus the striping... the mirrors were hard to get to look right. I lowered the front a bit too.

If you're not big on the mirrors:

Love the car, minus the "fangs" on the front bumper.

Hopefully we'll get a modern 510 someday, but I'm not holding my breath.
