I've had my Murano (SL AWD) for a week and I love it except for one issue. After taking off from a stop or turning a corner the RPMs go way down and the engine seems to bog down and lose power. It soon regains power and takes off. I saw a similar thread where the problem was the intake tube but mine doesn't have the bucking problem. I came from a 2000 Infiniti QX4 so this is my first experience with today's new technology and didn't know if maybe this is normal??? Any ideas?

I have the same vehicle. I have noticed what feels like transmission braking when I take my foot off of the gas at low speeds. Does this also describe what you're feeling? I don't know the cause... but thought it might be helpful for you to know that at least one other person is encountering the behavior.

I have a 2009 Murano and it exhibits that exact behavior. From what I have read, this is a fuel saving feature; which to me appears to be nonsense. However, if you accelerate a bit more quickly than you normally do, the "problem" disappears completely. I have gotten adjusted to it after driving mine for awhile and am rarely conscious of it now. Enjoy your new ride.

Thanks for your posts. I agree it's nonsense for it to be a fuel saving feature because as it's bogging down the MPG gauge goes WAY down...to like 5-6 MPG. Also, I've noticed it only happens after the engine warms up. When I leave work at the end of the day and I pull out of the parking lot it just picks up and goes. And boy, what difference a hundred extra horses makes compared to my QX4 :-) My salesman thinks something isn't right and wants to take a test drive. I'll let you know what he says.

To be honest, I find my CVT vehicles get WAY better fuel mileage than their traditional automatic counterparts... I'm getting nearly 22 MPG out of a 3.5l V6 in hilly terrain... that's pretty damn good!

In the AM when the car is cold, it is not present om my MO either. I am interested to hear what the dealer tells you. Please keep us informed/

Make sure you are not experiencing the VDC kicking in on a snow or ice covered road......or even gravel or dirt.

My 09 does the same, it's the transmission braking to save fuel, from what I've read and suppose to be 'normal'? I've gotten use to it too.
