Don't know the reason, but it can't be good. Generally companies don't stop doing things that are working well. This has me a bit concerned since I just purchased an 09 with the SH paint. We'll see what happens...

I just bought a 2010 G37x sedan. While at the dealer I asked about the self healing paint and why it was discontinued. My sales associate commented that Nissan/Infiniti found the paint too expensive and decided to discontinue it in favor of adding other standard options. Could be sales pitch or could be some truth. I dunno.

I just purchased an oh-ten G37 and was told by the salesperson that it did have Self Healing paint. Does it specify that type of paint on your 09 window sticker?
