2010 Maxima Brake and Batt. light on after new Alt.

Good morning forum,
I'm new first time posting. I have a 2010 maxima and my Batt light and Brake light came on. I immediately thought it's the alternator. So I replaced it. The lights went off for about 3 hours and then came back on. The belt seems to be tight, the battery has 12+ volts. I'm getting 12+ volts from the alt to a ground. Pulled the plug on the alt and checked. I'm getting 0 volts, 11.40 volts, and 12.5 volts. Help me please thank you.

It's *possible* that the belt, although tight in your opinion, might be slipping under load and thus not being able to get the alternator to work at optimum efficiency if you will. What's the condition of the belt? Is it also new?

Using you multimeter how many volts at the battery are you receiving when the
engine is running?. It should be more than 12-probably at least 14v.

Also check your ground wires to be sure they are tight and that associated places where ground contact is made are clean and shiny

I have the same exact problem, started my car one morning and the battery and brake lights were on, on the way to work my car stopped accelerating and locked, I jump started it but it wouldnt go. Took it to a shop, they changed my alternator, the serp belt, put in a new battery, lights went away for a little and came back on, but it was driveable so I decided to take it home, and on the way home all the dash lights came on, and the car wouldnt accelerate for a little until I make a full stop, and then it goes away, finally brought it home, and now I dont know what to do. Any advice on what it might be?????
