I just purchased a New Used 2010 M45x with 34k miles that will finally be delivered to my house tomorrow. :rotfl I am a new member and new to Infinity and have been searching the Forum for a few weeks on 2010's.

I am not seeing many threads on the 2010 M45x and wondering why? Sure hope that I did not make a mistake purchasing this 2010 if there are known issues with it. The car is very clean inside and out, title is clean, car-fax is all clean.

Did I miss anything about this car that I should be aware of or is it that not many folks on this forum own 2010 M45x.

Some of the mods that I want to tackle right away are:

K&N airfilter or should I do CAI?
LED Lighting outside and Inside - thought I saw a thread on bulb recommendations?
Exhaust - Y pipe and back..don't want it to loud but little rumble is good, no inside cabin noise.

Any other mods I should look at or any recommendations on above mods is greatly appreciated. I will post pics of car once I get it.

Thanks! :dblthumb:

The M45x is a great model and is my favorite model of the M45, but there seems to be a very limited number of them on the road. Many of the M's are either an M35(x) or M45. Just check in with the folks that have the M45 and M35(x) models to get an idea of common issues you may experience. For the most part the M45 is a good car that shouldn't cause you any major issues. However, you may experience oil consumption, so keep an eye out for this between each oil change so you don't destroy your car's engine. Many of the M in the Northeast are M35x variants of the car for some reason. The south and west coasts seems to get more of the 8 cylinder models. Off the scuff you can expect the M45x to guzzle fuel like a monster.

m45x is the heaviest of all, so milage will suffer, it's also slower than a m35s, also to note you're driving around with extra 300lb. Personally, if i wanted awd i'd get an m35x, if i wanted most performance then a M45s. I just feel that a high performance sports sedan should be rwd.

There are so few 2010 m45x because it was the end of the model year and m37 already had more power for that model year.
Nice car regardless, check your oil often.

I chose the 45x cause I wanted the x, and I wanted the power. The 35s just didnt feel right, or enough. MPG was not much different from either models, save 1 mpg. I cross shopped all the Benzes, BMW, Lexi, Audi... you name it. With the incentives at the time, there was so much more to the 45x compared to the whole lot. Huge no brainer.

Not much posting on the 45x, like you noticed. Most 45xers seem to prefer it clean, with subtle changes from oem.

Above what you listed, staggering is considered no-no with a few saying that with meticulous measurements, its ok.

Uprevs, coils/springs, or keeping clean like using the 19 sports with a little spacer.

The M45x is a better choice than the M35x. M35 owners frequently complain about how "slow" the car is on the M frame. The 3.5L engine is better suited to the G sedan luckily Infiniti produced the 3.7L engine. Staggering an AWD vehicle will not make much sense performance wise. I believe a couple of folks actually staggering their X sedans though.

Thanks for the feedback :dblthumb: Gas Mileage is not an issue, I wanted the horsepower (used to have 2008 Chrysler 300c, modified a little). If gas mileage were an issue I would have been shopping for a smaller go-kart style car.

I will get some pics posted later today or tomorrow once car is delivered, the weather here will be sunny and around 42 - not normal for Michigan standards.

I know I saw a post that allowed you to select your car and it showed all bulb replacements. Where is this at?

Thank you!
