For starters hello folks!! Long time nissan enthusiast here. First car was a 94 G20T (miss that thing) and since then i've been in mainly sr20 powered vehicles. I just purchased a 2010 m35x with 67k on it. A couple questions about somethings that I want to correct on the car.

One was the mirror issue (after some searching it seems the actuators sometimes go bad I guess? I'll look into fixing this in the future)

Two, how do you remove the middle console/arm rest? for some reason mine has a weird wiggle to it where it doesn't sit flush on the actual console base and makes its not only annoying but sometimes unusable (lifting it up) because the latch doesn't line up right.

Three, what could cause the cruise control to not work? When I press the On/Off button it turns on and I see the green cruise light on the cluster...but when I hold the right toggle down to set the speed...nothing happens? Maybe i'm not doing it right.

Thanks in advance for all the help

btw is this the most active infiniti? M forum? coming from places like sr20forum and the dash, I can't believe the community for these wonderful cars are that inactive.

The center console is multiple parts. Begin by opening the actual armrest area of the console. The remove the cup holder insert. Then pull upward on the opened area - should snap up and out easily. After that, you will see 4 screws holding the left/right seat temp, etc. Remove them and the switches should lift out. the next section is the ash tray / gear shift. That has no screws holding it in place but you have to do the following to remove it. On the gear shift lever, pull down on the leather surround so it folds down away from the actual knob. On the lever. there is a little plastic clip just under the knob. Carefully, spread that clip open and it slides off. This will allow you to pull the knob up and off, and remove that section.

There is a link to the FSM for your model year in the FAQ section. It's a bit daunting to search through it, but it contains diagrams with part numbers. You can also use my fav place to find discounted OEM parts: http://www.infinitipartsonline.com/
They ship fast and all parts are discounted well below what a dealer needs to charge. After you search for a part (by name, not #) you will see a diagram of that part or that area and you can select which specific piece you need. Even when they report it on back-order, it usually ships in a week or so.

As for the cruise control. seems you are setting it correctly. Maybe don't hold the 'set' button down - just get to the speed you want and push it once and let go.

thanks larz for the reply...it seems that now im having another issue....Last saturday when driving normally, my pedal felt a little bit squishy....thinking I popped a brake line (felt this feeling before) I immediately pulled into my driveway and checked under the car. No leaks. I then checked the brake fluid reservoir and it was still full. Brought the car back to the guy i bought it from he said he'll bleed the brakes and it should be good. While driving it back from him I noticed the problem hasn't been solved. Basically what's happening is sometimes when I step on the pedal the brakes react normally, other times the pedal drops about 50-75% with no reaction and then I have to pump them again to fully come to a stop. Then repeat this process. One thing I did notice today when driving it back from the dealer was when I would let the pedal travel farther than the 50-70% mark the seatbelts would tighten (safety feature?). The car was recently in the dealer for an oil change and an inspection (After i bought it to make sure everything was good) and outside of dirty filters he said the brake and power steering fluid was cruddy. Could the dirty fluid be the culprit behind this?
