Hi Everyone,

I just picked up a new 2010 M35x last week and i must say i'm quite impressed with the car... the only issue i have is that when i put the car in reverse and the backup camera is displayed, sometimes the image is really fuzzy and i can hardly see anything... has anyone else run into the same problem?

just to knock out the simple stuff. is it safe to say that you have cleaned off the lense. and it's not any condensation built up on it?

yeah... the first time it happened i thought it was coz the lens was dirty, so i made sure the lens is clean and no condensation and tested it again and it still happened...

Check out "diagnostic mode" (zerothread/162860). You can access some functions built into the car such as camera adjustments.

cool... i'll play around with it in diagnostics mode, but it almost feels like there's a loose wire or something coz the camera will be fuzzy for a few seconds, then it'll "pop" back to a super clear image, then "pop" back to fuzzy mode again... weird... i just don't wanna trek back to the dealership if i dont have to...

@chino907

This is happening in my 2009 G37x, did you ever figure out what the issue is? It only seems to happen to me in hot weather...

Check grounds... and see if it gets worse when the door opens and the interior lights come on... if so... it is a grounding issue, and you need to install another chassis ground wire, or re-ground the cameras wires...

To further confirm that it is a ground issues, the camera picture should look like an old tv, with lines going through it... or like snow/bad resolution...
