Hey all, just recently got a 2010 2.5S coupe. One of the only things I want to do are a HID upgrade. The car does not have HID's now just the stock OEM headlight/bulb setup. What is the stock bulb#, and what would be the best way to upgrade to a HID setup with the most OEM quality I can find? I know about DDM tuning kits and being cheap chinese made. I also lurked around on theretrofitsource at some of their stuff. While much more expensive I'd expect the quality to be worth it. I also read other threads about static interference when listening to FM which I would like to avoid.

Really just looking for advice for an OEM quality/reliability and output, not too worried about price.

Say or believe what you want about DDM but I have had their slim kit on my car for what will be 3 years at the end of this year and have never once had a problem. As far as the bulb it is an H11 that you want to get where ever you decide to purchase from.

I too have the DDM slim kit, been running well for roughly 2 years. That said, if I could go back I would spend the extra for a kit from theretrofitsource. I think that they're products are top notch.

I would agree with YoungCoupe that there are probably better kits out there if you are willing to spend the money. If your looking for best bang for your buck its hard to beat the DDMtuning kit.

I've got the ddm slim kit as well and I've been running it for almost two years now. They've never misfired or showed any signs of dimming.

One huge reason they get a bad rep is because of their color temp options. They have about four actual bulb colors and sell like six or seven. I purchased the 6000K bulbs and they're definitely closer to seven or eight. It's been discussed many times that they send out the wrong colors.

Alright, so ill probably splurge on a TRFS.com kit, is there anything in particular I need? I was looking at the H11 Morimoto kit found at http://www.theretrofitsource.com/produc ... ts_id=3955. I don't need the 'Stand Alone CAN Bus' option correct?

General consensus seems to be 35W to not melt the housings, 4300K is the most OEM looking color there is. I want that clean slight blue look you get from Lexus/BMW HID systems. Am I right here?

Your link comes up as forbidden.

I've read previously about the DDM color shenanigans. While I would love to save the extra cash, I just don't want to deal with the hassle others have gone through.

Anyone know anything about the 'Return Wire' shadow or can we orient the bulb to a better position and get rid of that dreadedness

We don't have a problem with it.

Nope, I don't have that problem at all.
