OK, so I don't know where I saw the post, but here is the jist:

My new G37 was loud on the highway, so I checked the air pressure and it was really high, so I lowered it and now my car is quiet on the road.....

So I was showing my friend my new oh-ten G37S and drinking, or the other way around, whatever-and noticed my tires looked a little like balloons... So I pulled out my trusty air pressure tester and AHHHHH! I was riding at 52Lbs all around.

That is a lot of air.

Now I'm down to 36 and WOW! is it quiet now. I didn't realize how loud the ride was until I "normalized" the air pressure.

So, the moral of this post is: If you have never checked the air pressure in your car's tires, especially if it is new, do it now.

You will be happy that you did.

I'v been thinking about reasons why the tires would be so full...

One possibility is that they need a liitle extra clearance to load the "S" cars onto trucks for transportation... I (before lowering the tire pressure) would scrape the exhaust when going into my garage with m y wife and kids in the car.

Now, with the tires down to 36 PSI, the kids (3) have to get out before I drive into the garage.

Maybe they air up for transportation on the sport model and just overlook airing down after the sale...

When I'm serious about buying a car, not just test driving for the fun of it, I take a gauge with me and check/adjust the pressure so that I know what the ride will be like IF I buy it. Cause, I've found that dealers (not all) keep the tires over inflated. Haven't seen any in the 50's though!
