Hi everyone. I recently worked on on the engine of an FX50, where i replaced the auto tensioners, passenger side camshaft gears, because there was this clapping metallic sort of noise coming from the engine.

Asembled everything, i stalled the engine in the hood, only to discover that the 12V battery could not crank the engine for long(sluggish cranking). We got the battery taken to a battery shop, to have them recharge it. Returned the battery after they done, and still did not start.

Scanned the vehicle for trouble codes, and got a P0603: engine control module supply circuit, a d P1568.
From research was meant to understand that a weak or dead 12V battery can trigger this code.

Another test i ran was that on checking for spark at the ignition coil, there was none, and also, the passenger side exhaust, keeps leaking gasoline in the catalytic converter. A gasoline smell is always percieved when that exhaust gets fouled with gasoline.

I have checked the crankshaft position sensor for fault.

I do not believe, the timing can cause this issue. If it was a timing issue, i will atleast get a corrrelation problem, and i should get a timing related code.

Pls help!:!
1. What do you think will cause a no spark at the coils?
2. Why is the passenger side exhaust getting fouled with gasoline dripping at the catalytic converter/tailpipe?

Thanks for the directions

Finally got this issue sorted out. The timing on the passenger side was way off, and that was the reason for the raw gasoline finding its way through the exhaust pipe.
