This is what I usually do. The old owner even bought the 2016 maps which I haven't installed yet. Always founds it's quicker to type an address into google maps then an integrated car nav. I should do it eventually though, already have the disc lol. Does it go into the regular CD slot, or is there something under the seat?
That's annoying, guess I'll wait for a road trip lol. My battery sucks, been having to boost my car far too often. The previous owner had some module installed so you can plug a device into an electrical outlet on my car, and runs off the battery. I think it's drawing power at all times. If it's parked for a week or two, even in the summer, it'll be dead and need a jump. I need an oil change, and think I'm going to ask my mechanic to just rip it out.
I want to do it more for the map updates. Our city has grown a lot since 08, when I drive in my neighborhood it's just all blank on my GPS lol. I just haven't cared to do it yet because I usually use Google Maps for nav and sync through the cars Bluetooth since I listen to Spotify anyway.victorhora wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 12:34 pmI did relying on the battery. It was a bit scary as it took over 1 hour, but it went fine
You can do the upgrade cheaper by downloading the DVDs and then buying the code online. But to be honest, I didn't notice much difference after the upgrade so I'm still unsure if it's worth it...
By the way, if you download the DVD you can choose to only do the firmware upgrade for the system which includes Bluetooth improvements / compatibility which will be "free" :P
