2010 EX35 AWD - CV Shaft Parts Source

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hello,

I have a clicking sound coming from my rear left wheel when I switch gears. Is this common in these vehicles?

My mechanic suspects I'll need to replace the CV Shaft in the future. Took a look on the web and it looks like the OEM CV Shaft for the rear left is $760 USD shipping from Japan. Front ones are $90-160.

Anyone have a good part source for this?

Thanks,

Matt

Check on this website http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/infiniti for the parts. I haven't ordered form them, but looks they have a pretty good deals.

I checked the RockAuto site and it looks like they are out of stock of that part.

If the price is holding you back, I can think of two other options.

1. Look for a shop that can rebuild the drive axle. This is something I have never done before, so I wouldn't know if it would offer any cost savings over new. It might also mean more down time for your vehicle.

2. Get a used one from a salvage yard. If your mechanic can't source one locally, I'd check out http://car-part.com to expand your search. You can probably find used ones on eBay as well.

Good luck and please let us know what you end up doing.
