2010 EX - Gasoline Overflow

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

no i don't. i believe gasoline shut off belong to the pump not your car. sometime the pump doesn't turn not and will overflow. this is not the car's fault

Normally I'd agree - but it's happened at different locations.

Don't try to top it off.

Neither one of my Infiniti's like to be topped off.

Yep--I am a recovering topper-offer. Now I am re-learning how to fill up.

Had a G35x that was fine. E35x overflows not even topping off, just when pump clip is engaged and doesnt click off......bogus.

I have had some over flow a few times as well.. one reason is topping off, the other I assume is that the pump/filter on the gas station is malfunctioning. I have attributed this to a few fill ups of testing different pumps at the same gas station.

My recommendation try a different pump, just like anything else its an issue of a tolerance setting for the pump to stop/ speed.

This is infiniti specific for me - doesn't happen on the same pump with either my BMW or Audi.

I've had the exact same issue with a volvo. It took 4 trips to the dealership and lots of BS from them about going to a different gas station for them to actually fix it. So I'd say take your car to the dealer. It has nothing to do with the gas station. Good luck. This issue was one of the reasons why I drive an EX now and would never get another volvo again

I have had the same problem on my 2010 EX35. I have filled it up twice, each time at a different gas station and it happened both times. I don't top off, it just happens at the end of the fill-up. I am going to fill it up again today or tomorrow and I am going to have my wife fill up her car at the same pump to see if there is a difference. I will update with my highly scientific results
