It does. Greg and I rented one last year at Nashville and it wasn't all bad. It didn't have enough power to pull a greasy string out a cat's a** but it was better than an Aveo.
LMAOI'll bet, I drove my friend's '00 Accent and it was a car that put a smile on my face, that Aveo...doesn't seem like that kind of car.

About 2 years ago i had to rent the hatch back one. if you have the car for a while, Just crack open the intake box and the s***box sounds like a bit of a funner box. I drove and raped that rental car doing tokio drifts after midnight at K mart parkings. Ahh this car is a little fun car even tho it sucks balls!

I really dont think that its a bad car, once you get to know how to use the car, passing or getting on the freeway is no problem, and that hold button comes in handy when your trying to pass even though it kind of kills your gas mileage, I think people are just afraid to floor the gas pedal. now what really sucks is the body roll.

The hold button is a wonderful thing. Its been in all of the automatic Mazdas I've owned, so I'm happy to see it in other cars. Its great for climbing hills or maintaining constant torque in bad weather. More manufacturers should offer it instead of this pretend-F1 flappy paddle garbage.

From what I've been told, at one time you could actually take the Daewoo to a Chevy dealership to get it worked on. That was a couple of years ago, so I don't know if you still can. My little sister got one when she was 16 cause it was 'cute'. She didn't bother consulting me about it.

I remember their slogan:"Italian styling with German Engineering".

Problem was, that German Engineering said that the timing belt should be replaced every 60k, when in actuality, they started snapping at 50k. Or so I've been told.

Exactly. ABS has its purposes but it is neither perfect nor necessary for everyone. I prefer my cars without it, but as with a lot of other tech garbage that's not always possible on modern cars. Optional is better.

Excessive pics are the mallet by which I drive home my message.

The current Aveo isn't even a GM really.

GM makes some fabulous cars at the moment.

I've always sorta liked the general body styling on the Aveo, I forget who designed it but it was someone with serious chops. That said, the wheels/stance are predictably awful, but this is easily remedied.

It definitely feels cheap, but what do you expect for a car you can buy new for like eight grand?

The new Aveo looks hella nice, IMO:

My wife had an '07 Aveo, which was a nightmare on wheels. I didn't mind driving it until we got on the highway with it and got blown around all over the place plus it was gutless beyond belief when you needed to pass someone. Although that wasn't the main reason I thought it was a piece of junk... It had a new cylinder head, new oil pump, new blower motor, complete new engine, another new oil pump and gasket, and new transmission all within the first 10,000 miles . We spent more time in rental cars than in the car we owned(which I didn't mind since we usually got something nicer, we had a crew cab Silverado for a whole month). Thankfully when we moved to Kentucky I convinced her to trade it in on the QX4 and somehow they ended up paying it off and giving us money to go towards our new vehicle when she had only had it for 1 1/2 years

So even though our Aveo was a lemon, I still haven't heard anything good about them. They're a cheap car and you get what you pay for...
