I'm looking to trade in my 2013 wrx for a 2010 altima coupe. Yes, I actually said that. The car is giving me problems and transmission issues that the dealer will not fix and getting a bit annoyed with it all. I've stumbled upon a 3.5 v6 6spd red altima coupe. By the pics, it has 350z wheels powder coated black, the description says "Front & rear anti roll bar", so it's got F/R sways, has a catback but can't figure out which and looks to be lowered a bit. One of the things I love about it is it is NA, got tired of turbo's real quick, much more all engine kind of guy.. that and my payments will be literally cut in half.

Anyways, looks like a great price, good miles for the year, clean carfax and I'm going to look at it tomorrow. It may be a possible trade in on the spot but what's kind of holding me back is the lack of aftermarket support for these cars. For my wrx, there were loads of parts for everything.

So here's my question.. where do you guys buy your performance parts? What should I look for since this car has a few mods? I assume it's been played with and toyed around.

And maybe I'm just into the 3.5's too much and am blind to it, is it a somewhat even trade off? excluding awd, not that important.

Yeah i actually found that link after i posted this, and its a base wrx 2013 sedan. When i bought it i went crazy with mods but now the only thing i have are muffler deletes, mud flaps and a roof rack.

The car isnt expensive or getting expensive, but the transmission is a mess amd has been since i bought it, random things crackle in the car, and the infamous ringland piston failure is all too common. It has gotten me out of a crazy s*** snow storm last winter though.. But i have a soft spot for the 3.5 coupe and the z/g35 since they came out. Family has been pretty much all nissans since 2001, with 4 nissans. So i guess it fit. But would i have to check over anythibg in particular with the altima? Since it has a few mods

Well it sounds like you're trying to save some money yet still have some performance over going for something fast and track worthy?

Yes and no, I'm not a performance junky and dont track. Just some nice added power, even if it isnt loads of hp/tq, and a nice exhaust and audio.

I have the 2.5s but I've heard intake,y pipe, exhaust, and a tune is a very good power adder for the 3.5

An Altima coupe V6 would be an excellent vehicle for you to transition to if you're struggle with your WRX's ownership costs (payments, fuel costs, et cetera). The coupe has a solid aftermarket offering and the V6 variant is plenty fast too, and since the coupe has been discontinued as of the '13 model year. Both the 4 cylinder and V6 models can be purchased heavily discounted right now and comes well equipped. :)
