Luckily (so to speak) the guy was already stopped behind me and and had let off the brakes so the impact wasn't bad, no metal damage or lights broken. Just scuffed and dinged the rear bumper and I took it in for repairs last week, should get it back tomorrow evening Right after the accident since I knew it was goin in for repairs one way or another I ordered a Stillen rear wing/spoiler
Can't wait to get my car back Tuesday night! Next on my list I'll be ordering some rims pretty soon, Axis Elites (black matte) which will be 19 x 9.5 (+45 offset) all around unless there are concerns with rubbing? I've been through some various threads on here (very helpful) but I've noticed many are putting 8" or 8.5" wide rims on the front with a larger in the rear for the staggered effect. Do I have cause for concern going 9.5" all around? Initially I won't have the Eibach Pro kit but later on (probably this spring/summer) I'll be installing the drop kit. I also need a bit of help on tire size selection. I want the sidewalls nice and flush with the edge of the rims (not bulging out and not stretched). Am I safe with 255/35-19 or do you recommend another size? I'm kinda stuck on wanting Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Seasons and seems my diameter difference on this set will only be +1.11% but like I said i just want to be sure before I go an order a set of rims and subsequently some tires after that lol.
So key points I suppose:- No rubbing (would rather go with "safer" rim width/tire size combo)- Eibach Pro kit to be installed within a couple/few months- Tires flush with rim (no stretch/bulge)- 19x9.5 +45 offset wrapped with 255/35-19
Hey dude! congrats on the new coupe!
I have to say though, at a +45 offset (which is our stock offset), moving up to 19x9.5 might rub if you end up lowering (which you should! )
If you were between a +35 and +40 I don't suppose I'd worry so much, but at a +45 I'd go 8 or 8.5" all the way around just to be safe. On a stock suspension though, it shouldn't cause any trouble.
Try this link out. It lets you compare tire sizes and stuff so you know what to expect.
