So I have a 2010 Altima coupe 2.5 it's almost 2 years now since I bought it new. I have read quite a bit about cars and upgrades and I think I want to dabble a little bit into my cars performance but I'm kind of in a tough spot. My lease is up in a year and a half.

So my question is if you were in my spot looking to spend about $500ish now and maybe 600 more in a few months on this car in performance or do u think I should put my money else where?

If you say to put some into this car what would give me the best horse power per dollar spent and in which order would u get them. Or where would u start?

Correction, you've been reading quite a bit about people modding cars they OWN, not lease. Unless you intend to buy your car at the end of the lease, (which would cost far more than $1100) I would advise against investing in mods to a car you have to give back. If you want to invest now in making your car quicker, may I suggest improving "the nut behind the wheel." In other words, take a hi performance driving course and learn how to extract more out of your existing car. That is a better bang for the buck and transferrable to your next car.

This is very true and obviously of I do start toying around with mods I will keep the car.. Hence partially why I made the thread.. Most cars I've learned can go quick but some go quicker obviously and some take more money to do so. I was simply asking if this was a worth while car to do so in or should I just pocket the money and wait till the lease is up and then invest it into something else like a project car to learn from or start with a 6 cylinder + car or some thing.

Whether or not to mod a 4 cylinder Alti coupe is a good question. It is a great car,
and nice platform to work with. I suppose what direction you want to go will determine if the car is the best one to mod. We have a very good Altima coupe group within NICO, many of whom have done mods, who could better advise you on specifics. Check out this link....

We're not all bedazzlers ya dang honkie!

OP, being that you are driving a 2.5 CVT your modification possibilities are limited. You have bolt on intake, exhaust, and header options with the 2.5 within your price range, but thats about the end of the road. You could Bully Dog tune but not sure that is going to pull what you are looking for. Turbo is not a realistic option with the CVT nor your budget, members have done it with minimal boost but the CVT is just not built for it long run. Check out the link Bubba posted and hopefully you can get some more feedback in there other than a really sweet accessorizer.

the best mod for altima coupes: trading it in and getting something with balls. In your case, dont waste money on modding a car you are leasing. Your just going to have to remove it all in the end, not to mention its CVT and your modding capabilites are limited. For the same amount of money your going to pay in the end to keep that car outright you can pick up a used z33.

LOL its ok, I can bust balls i used to own a 3.5, they are some fun cars :gapteeth:

i'd say the funnest mod i had was the sts, buuuutttt sounded like OP was rolling cvt, so ya, i'd leave it alone. plus, mod'ing your daily driver kind of sucks, you just get used to the speed/etc and then its not fun anymore =( got to just get a 2nd, sporty, fun car and keep it pristine.

Come on, give it a little credit? Clearly its not the gear junky's first choice for a project car but it's no slouch either. When I bought mine I had no intention of ever modifying a thing on it. I didnt know s*** about cars (still dont know s*** really). In fact, I bought it after a long weekend of illicit drugs at Gathering of the Vibes, I think I was still incorrect at the time I signed the papers. Then I found NICO. Then I started modding. Its a fun, peppy, nimble little pile of crap.

Besides the obvious, you can't do much with only $600 for modifications.

Good clean power costs much more than that.

True story! A lot of odd things came out of that weekend, the Coupe was just the beginning.
