I've seen most of these vids, and I might just be out of luck because I hate how those sound.CoupeVQ35CVT wrote:I'd advise you to browse through youtube looking for "altima coupe nismo" or similar and find some nismo 2.5 videos. It's a 4-banger, so it's kind of hard to sound good, or not have some rasp to it (unless the system comes with a resonator).
Here are a few videos I dug up:

I was under the impression that the Nismo Intake (CAI) voided the warranty? What's the axel back? I'm new to the modifying cars world. I just sold my Nismo Xterra to buy the Altima. I thought that the Nisom Catback would give me a little more growl, but I'm seeing and hearing that it will make my car sound a bit ricey. Most of the vid I've seen feature CAI's and ehaders along with theexhaust, which make things sound louder.Zerep wrote:you have to hear it in person and if you dont want some much noise get the axel back or the intake it will not void your warranty and you only hear it when you want too the axel back on the other hand does not have a mid-pipe running under you so you wont hear it in cabin as much

IMHO I don`t think it`s ricey at all... it clearly does NOT sound like those large cans on the honda`s and the raspy chainsaw sounding exhausts out there...It does have low resonance in the cabin, but not enough or loud enough to become annoying. It is a welcome improvement bc I can now hear the car idle and run...
as far as waste of coin, hmmm I was on the fence about the price, but when you see the quality, fit and finish of the exhaust you will feel better about parting with the coins...
Im not entirely sure the exhaust is the same for the sedan. Is the exhaust split into R and L mufflers? on the coupe it is one muffler with dual outlets...
refer to this thread for pics of the coupe exhaust and compare...http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread?id=447540
I'm in the same boat. This is my primary vehicle, so I don't want to turn heads wither, but rather, give the car a bit more sound. It's pretty quiet. Any performance improvement with the install of teh exhaust would be a bonus as well. It's tough to tell what the exhaust is going to sound like as most clips on here, youtube, and other forums have heavily modified cars (CAI, headers, etc.) along with the Nismo exhaust, so you don't really get a good idea of the sound.nig1 wrote:I was looking into a nismo exhaust also. I'm not looking to sup-up my car, I just feel like my 2.5S lacks a little oomph when stepping on the pedal. I don't wanna annoy people w/a loud growling exhaust noise (especially driving in the parking lot garage for work). Is the sound of nismo less loud than GReddy? I have a GReddy exhaust on my civic and while the sound was rich and deep, I'm past that stage where I want heads turning on me. I go to family/work-functions so hearing my car growl a block away is kind of embarrasing. Performance-wise, are u satisified w/the nismo exhaust? Do u feel a noticeable change?
