Hello everyone, brand new member here. I just bought my Altima 2 weeks ago. It's in great shape and only has 51k miles. I've sorta been babying it, keeping it super clean and storing it in a garage. Well this evening (11/26/13) was the first commute i have driven it in the rain. It is also about 35 degrees F outside. as i approached the garage bay and pulled in, i could see noticeable amounts of steam billowing out of the grille area. As you can imagine, my first thought was "Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me!" however there were no dash light indicators, and the temp needle was where it's supposed to be. so i did the smartest thing i could think of and turned the car off immediately. i popped the hood and took a peek. Everything is wet from the rain so no way to tell if anything was leaking, but there are no stains on the garage floor from past nights if it was in fact leaking anything. One thing i noticed though, is the steam/smoke was almost odorless and after a few minutes, had stopped. definitely didnt smell like coolant, and certainly not like burning oil. if anything, it had a slight car wash soap smell to it. Can anyone put my mind at ease and confirm that its just a design of this car where water gets to hot components and steams and thats just what they do? I would hate to feel like i bought a broken car. Thanks again if you actually read all of this and I'm glad to be here!

EDIT: on the car wash soap note, i had washed it Sunday (11/24/13) by hand with Mothers California Gold car wash/wax if that makes a difference.
