200sx- What should i do?

i have a 88 200sx SE i was looking into swapping out the old ca and i was wonder what anyone that would be the best swap for my car .....i was thinking maybe a rb20det because it is cheap but since the 200sx is so light i was wondering if there was abetter swap (im not even shure a rb20 would work)

i need some help!!!

put a KA-T in that sucker. You probly get a ka for less then 500 bucks.

Go with a CA18DET, the original engines in them were the VG30ET and the CA18ET.

go check out http://www.club-s12.org and find out.

I think the FJ20 and FJ24 engine series was originally in the s12 as well. Now thats a turbo engine that'll teach the SR a thing or two about torque!!!

im actually thinking about a ca18det because it is light er than a fj20 thanks for ur help

with a decent powered ca18det that car would fly. the power to weight ratio would be very very good.

The VG30ET never came in that car. You won't be able to get the VG30ET in their either w/o chopping the firewall. AT LEAST the crossover pipe won't fit and i suspect a lot of other stuff wouldn't sit right either. I sold my old one to a friend who was going to try to fab so new motor mounts and try a VG30ET out, but he gave up. I'd say CA18DET or u could go all motor on the VG30E that came factory, but u'll never see 200whp w/ that.
