95 200sx small 4 cyl 1.6...I KNOW the sound of a motor turning without compression but this one has me wondering...six months ago I started the car and it immediatly stopped and when I tried again I just KNEW it had jumped timing...I put it in my garage till time permitted...hooked the battery up and it STARTED...I am old and don't know too much about electronic fuel injection stuff but IS IT POSSIBLE to have the brain or whatever do this ( act like no compression } OR OR OR could a fuel problem like a vapor lock cause such a situation cause it happened two days ago so I disconnected the battery and just now tried to start it with the same ( replace the timikng belt situation )...thought maybe it would reset..................HELP HELP{

well the brain wont take away compresion. it only sence mechanical things and says fuel...... now spark...... equal fire. check to see if u have spark. then check to see if u have fuel. but the only thing that will take away ur compresion is the timing being off. so if ur sure u have the timing right make sure uve got fire and fuel. take the spark plugs out and stick a rrag or somthing over the plug holes.to seal it a bit, crank the engine and if the rag moves then u have compresion.

thanks for your input...it was simply loaded up..put more power to it and turned in for 20 or 30 seconds with the throttle open and it took off...never did pull a plug but it sure sounded like low compression...since it happened a year ago I was pretty sure it would run..m,ust be a cold start sensor or something like that could be sticking???will look into it further if it happens again
