I had a friend who was driving my car on the way back from Frankfurt Airport and he said while he was driving he noticed it all of a sudden it sounded rough. When I came back from vacation I noticed that it basically had no power anymore and the turbo was not firing. My car sounds like a Harley right now also.

Any ideas?

Thanx

How fast was he driving and for how long? From Frankfurt to Ramstein is about 1.5 hours. I had the same problem after hitting 230kmh in mine. Check all your intercooler piping. Mine actually did this on the way back from the Frankfurt Airport too but the other direction and my drive was only 15 minutes. Mine would barely run and it also sounded the same as you are describing. I was lucky it was just bad piping, there are guys who know way more than me who will be able to give you other ideas. That is just my 2 cents. And at the current EURO exchange rate that isn't much.

Some might inquire more into the noise it is making exactly.

Yeah man it is always a pain coming back from Frankfurt...always easy to get too. Plus I dont think there was a time when on my way back that it wasnt raining hardcore haha....I was thinkin it might be a problem with the exhaust too...having no back pressure from the exhaust may cause it not to fire too i heard...But like you said...that's the questions for these guys.

I have a complete 3" inch exhaust from the turbo back and no cat and I have no problems with the way my car runs. Any other mods to your car that might cause these problems? Just trying to get you to give up some more info so when the BIG CA guys chime in they will know more and be able to give you maybe a more precise diagnosis.

Well the only thing that I believe is modded is the blowoff valve on it.

i would check all the piping and vacuum lines. i would also pull the plugs and check to see if any are fouled. you might not be getting proper spark in all cylinders.

I will have to check the piping. I know one of the contacts on the spark plug wires is totally jacked, but yet...should still contact somewhat. I did just recently change the plugs and they were pretty nasty. My wires should be here hopefully today and I will swap them out too.

Sounds like a coilpack to me. Are you making boost?

hey echojuliet if you need another coilpack let me know I have about 20 in a box. If you need it this weekend I have a house by Ramstein now and you can swing by and pick it up or I can MPS it to you.

MPS for the win. Unfortunately, it is not the fastest system around. Hope you fix that issue soon.

Hey Rageasian,

I would like to take you up on that offer for a coil pack. Let me know if you have any time this week. I work Panama schedule on nights so I will be around. How much you want for one?

I don't know anything about price. Few bucks I guess like I said I have quite a few I just have to locate them. Still trying to get things situated in the new house. I should have them located by Saturday. Go to one of those online map programs and look up Oberkirchen 66629. Depending on how fast you hit the autobahn it is about a 20 min drive. Let me know.

Hit me up with an email for your address or whatever [email protected]
