A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I'm in desperate need of help. I bought a 200sx SE with the GA16DE engine and it's driving like S**t. The main problem is that when I take my foot off the gas, the revs drop down then the engine revs back up to about 2000rpm, then down again, then up to 1500 and then it settles at idle. It makes driving in traffic very difficult. I've cleaned the EGR, I've replaced the IAC, I can't find a vacuum leak and if I don't stop messing with cars, my wife's gonna' kill me.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Any SES/CEL light?

Clean your MAF and make sure it's not wobbling around.

No lights and I cleaned my MAF. I also forgot to mention that it runs rich and the plugs are wet with gas.

The erratic idle is probably because it's running super rich and is on the verge of being flooded.

Is your coolant temp going up when it should and reading normal as you drive?

Any idea on the condition of the O2 sensors?

The temp looks good and holds steady. I'll pull the O2 sensor tonight and attempt to test it. Would a faulty O2 cause me this much trouble?

It might, I was hoping your coolant temp sensor was off because that would make more sense. Has it done this since you got it, or did it start after you bought it?
