Hello 200sx forum guys, stoping over here to ask a question. I was looking into buying a '84 RWD 200sx and was wondering if anyone has done a KA24DE swap, or if its even possible, im not expecting much from it as it will be a DD while my 240 can become a full fledged project car. Not planning tubo's just no relacement for displacement. Thanks all.

That is really a different 200sx than the ones normally discussed in this forum. That kind of thing is more in the 240sx/silvia sections. But the simple answer is yes you could put a ka24de in it... I have seen one with a ka24e swapped in, so it would be very similar for a ka24de. You should be able to use most of the s13 240sx drivetrain/electronics for the swap.

club-s12 has information on that swap, just go to the engine specific section and read up.

There's gonna be server downtime starting at 10pm (PST) and it won't be back up until maybe monday or tuesday, so it might be down by the time you see this msg.

Just to clarify, you're talking about an S12 chassis, right? If so, then yes, it can be done and has been. NeedCAforS13, one of our moderators, has a KA24DE in his S12 IIRC.

Also, the S12 forum will probably have a lot of info on the how to. The thing with the S12 is the the chassis and engine wiring harness's are the same and so the wiring can be hectic. Other than that, it's pretty straightforward.

just like the S13, the engine harness can be detached from the body harness.

it's just that in the S12, the body harness goes further into the engine bay than the S13. It comes out the passenger side fender around the front and controls the headlight motors, and is lights and what not.

but the engine harness does detach from the body harness.

I just wired in the CA18DET into my S12 and the wiring was actually fairly simple. The ka will be similar.
