dirty but....

ok the car runs the idle is a bit screwed up upThe car has no downpipe at allvacuum leaks are thereboost is stockneed to do a tune up and check for the bugs.i did the whole swap including the wiring for it. A PITA but it worked in the end...

But the car seems very underpowered...i am guess it's one or all the above combo's, anyone else knows anything more would be nice!

Vacuum leaks turn to boost leaks once the turbo spools up. Get it all sealed up and see if it makes a difference.

check timing as well, that and the head gasket. Big problem would be like Myteball said, vacuum leaks. Once you are wide open throttle and pressure is leaking its dumping too much fuel, turbo strains to spool harder to make up for loss of pressure to open the wastegate, even MORE fuel gets dumped in. The car could even start pulling timing at that point based on how rich it is.

is your knock sensor wired up? all the wiring guides i've seen never tell you to wire it up.

you have to hard wire it straight to the ecu. looks like power is provided by the same wire as the afm and cas. the signal wire goes to pin 23 on the ecu. at least thats what it says on pg. 130 of the fsm.

edit: oh, and your wiring guides are retarded.

btw on a side note i have ka24e maf and it is the 3 plug one....the ca18det is a 4 wire plug...how do you guys go about swapping it?

so just take 1 wire directly from knock sensor to ecu pin 23 and you done???doesn't have to go to any fuses or anything?and the voltage, how much should it be? Is the ecu capable of putting 12v jolts?

im not sure. i guess it could since it gets that voltage powering it..

actually knock sensor turns vibating forces from the block into voltage and usually 3-4 v and sends them to the ecu to be processed. The ecu takes this info and can retard or advance the timing on the car.But giving this, it will only affect perfrmance and a tad the idling not as much as i am having though. It should go through a fuse and should be grounded since IF the voltage is high you will end up frying the ecu

oh, i thought you meant "is the ecu capable of putting out 12v jolts" i guess it can in theory since its powered by a 12v line. i dont know if it is set up to be able to though.

i know how the knock sensor works...though i didnt quite know exactly until a few weeks ago, haha. ya just missed me!
