200sx buying help

i have a chance to buy a 1984 200sx for $200. 4cylinder, auto, about 190,000 miles
the guy said the engine is tampermental, but i can eventually deal with that.

so.
is there anything about these cars/engines that i should know??? would this be a good or bad purchase???

i told the guy i would give him a definate answer tomorrow.

for the most part, they're solid cars though.

if it runs and isn't rusted to s***, I'd say it's worth getting.

Check the base of the strut towers for rust, then get under it and thoroughly check for rust on the floor pan and corners of the wheel wells.

As far as the engine being "tempermental", maybe it would behoove you to ask him to be more specific? Either way, you can't beat $100 for an S12. I say do it (just because it has the Solid Rear Axle).

it might have the solid rear.

I wanna say they never made hatches with a solid axle.

LOL, we go about this again. It's based on the manufacture date, not the body style. All 1984's had it. :)
