They do great with high mileage though as long as you keep up with your routine maintenance. I had a '95 with 220k miles on it and still ran and drove like new when I sold it.

when do you guys expect the car to require huge maintenance like engine replacement, etc? i thought my car is nearing the end of its life at 199,500 miles and according to the old owner, he hasn't done anything except the routine oil, brake, antifreeze, etc, and milestone checkups at the dealer.

Unless it's doing something odd, (like smoking, using oil, knocking, or ect) I would just take care of it and not worry about it. Atleast in the cases i've seen the only time i've seen an engine replacement necessary on these cars is when they've been treated very badly. If you feel like it's getting worn out you could always do a compression check on it to make sure all the cylinders are still holding good compression.

The service writer at the Infiniti dealership we use told me he has an '00 I30 that comes in for service with 450,000 miles on the original drivetrain and still runs great.

Mine had 225K on it when I wrecked it. I was delivering pizzas for 30+ hours a week.
