I love my Versa....but I noticed something really odd when the weather got nice. I like to roll down both back windows (2009 Versa Hatchback BTW) so I can hear my radio when driving highway speeds. Well, the first time I did this the air coming in the windows created this weird low frequency pulse in the cabin pressure. At first it was slight as I only had the windows cracked maybe 2-3 inches. Once I rolled them all the way down it was VERY noticeable. To the point where the windshield and rear view mirror were vibrating as if there was a giant subwoofer in the back of my car. I can make this go away if I crack one of the front windows a couple inches but that defeats the purpose of using the back windows instead due to road/wind noise.

Has anyone else experienced this? It really causes havoc to my ears and actually gives my wife a headache when she is in the car when I do this.

Its normal for any 4 door car when you only roll the rear windows down.

Its like when you blow over the top of a bottle to get that noise.

You have to roll the front windows down enough to get air flow through the car instead of just the back windows which causes the pressure noise.

Yes I have experienced this. I generally open all four, even if the front are open just a bit. It allows the air to flow through. This is my first four door car with automatic windows, so I can't say I have experienced it before on my previous car. But on the Versa, Yes I have.

Oh and the window deflectors/visors help with the road noise.

Generally on the highway I only pop my sunroof as the windows make too much noise for my liking, but if you want to eliminate the road noise while opening all four windows, you should look into the window visors.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll just have to crack one of the front windows. I'll just make sure it's the wife's. ;)
