IS THERE AN AFTERMARKET COMPANY THAT IS CARRYING AN A/C KIT FOR A THE BASE MODEL VERSA'S. NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE A KIT AND I CAN'T FIND A PLACE THAT IS MAKING ONE. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A WEB SITE TO CHECK.

To our knowledge no one has an AC kit. You're in Boone, you don't need it.

It was discussed the option of finding the parts in a junkyard. But it would be a lot of work/time/costs.

Ok, I'm sorry but if everyone with the base model wants a/c, they should have just spent a little more to get it. It IS available on the 1.6 after all.

trust me you do not want a 1.6 with A/C.....that car would just bog down.

I have to disagree with you about the base model 1.6 with A/C bogging down. I purchased one and I'm surprised by the power that it has it is no throw you in your seat muscle car but it is pretty good. As far as aftermarket A/C the dealer told me that no one makes one.

Paticularly in today's economy, someone who is on a very tight budget and has to finance the car purchase may not be able or willing to pay finance charges on an air conditioner in the car. Finance the minimum and begin the research to find the parts you want, paying cash as you go.

I'm not saying that's the case here, but it makes some sense financially not to pay additional interest.
