2009 Versa A/C Compressor

Hi to all Versa owners:

Have you had to get a new A/C compressor? It started with a loud noise everytime I had the A/C on so I took it to the dealership to find out that it was the A/C compressor and needs to be replaced. Warranty is no longer available and my vehicle has only 46,561 kms. The cost to replace will be $1,300.00 plus labour and taxes.

I have contacted customer service located in Orillia and the only comments I received is "no longer under warranty" nothing we can do. Also, in April 2013, the driver's side spring broke. To my knowledge a broken spring would not fall under the catergory of wear and tear. At 38,000 kms the spring broke and at 46,558 the A/C compressor needs to be replaced. This is a vehicle that is only 4 years old. Any comments or suggestions?
