hey everyone :)

just wondering if anyone has seen this happen before. I woke up at 4am last week to find my Sentra fully engulfed in flames. The can hadn't been driven in more than 24 hours and the only source of ignition was the blockheater which was plugged in. The car is a total loss and there is $5K damage to my other car that was beside it....there is also unknown amount of damage to my house (all the siding within 30 feet of the car melted and there are electrical issues as well)

My question is this....has there been any number of fires spoken about here in regards to blockheaters as being the cause?

thanks for reading...if i knew how to post a picture i would show you all what a Sentra with 20 feet of flame coming from the windows looks like....but its not pretty

Cheers

Andy

Holy crap, I personally haven't heard of it, but block heaters aren't really common where I live.

The easiest way to post a photo is to upload it to Photobucket, then link to it.

BTW, welcome to NICO :)
