hi all
i hope someone can help. a huge pet peeve i have with my 09 sl with bose system is the way the handsfree works. there is a longer than i need delay between the time i hit the button and can say,"call........home.....then it asks call......home....is this correct......

why the hell can't we speak normally and have it talk back like ford's system with manning driving. call papa bear hut hut, outlaw60 (and the radio changes...etc.) with no pausing in between or a computer generated type voice.

is there a firmware update, can it be changed/tweaked...anything at all?

thanks
lou :yesnod

You are comparing it to a commercial?!? I have not used the Ford sync, but there is no way it is as fast as it is in the peyton manning commercial. Commercials always make this look WAY easier then how it really is. also its buick not ford not that it matters.

ok, it's a buick, and yes, the commercials always make the product seem better than it is, but still, in my opinion, the hands free in the rogue can be improved. i'm wondering if it has gotten any better in the past 4 years or if it still is.....ummmmm ..........like mine

The bluetooth connection for voice calls in my 2013 Rogue works great with my 7-year old dumb phone (LG VX8300). The sound quality is so good people have no idea I'm on any kind of headset or bluetooth connection. This is with the windows shut and the A/C on at any speed.

Since the phone has a traditional keypad and not a touch screen, I can push the buttons by feel alone. So I just do everything on the phone itself except actual talking. Avoids all the problems of waiting for the slow idiot computer in the head unit to go through my contact list and incoming texts. The difference between being distracted by a phone screen or by the head unit screen built in to the dash is insignificant, especially since I'm very familiar with all the phone's functions and not all that familiar with the few bluetooth functions the Rogue is capable of performing with my outdated phone. Also, the phone fits snugly in the little cutout just to the left of the cup holders in front of the center console.

I put in a 16GB microSD card and I use the built-in mp3 player for virtually my entire music library. It has huge speakers for a phone of its size, and it works great with a wired headset/earbuds. Who needs a touch screen anyway? How the hell am I supposed to text and drive if I have to look down at the screen to find the letters?????

Also annoying on the Rogue's 2013 navigation unit... the letters go ABCDEFGHIJ......... straight across. My Garmin uses a QWERTY keyboard layout, which I find much easier. And I'm not allowed to look for destinations while I'm moving??? Screw that. Does it allow searching if there's a passenger in the front seat? Nissan FAIL.

At least it's not like my Lancer. She likes to repeat everything back to me.

"Link system, ready" beep

me "Call Home"

"Calling --- HOME --- is that correct?" beep

me "yes"

"Calling --- Home --- Dialing" beep

pause for dial

Dials....

lol damn. I guess it's just common in cars. Our Rogue doesn't have bluetooth so I haven't experienced, but my Lancer is very annoying.
