Many answers to commonly asked questions can be found in the Official Rogue FAQ. There are links to the service manuals in the FAQ. The service manual provides procedures for removing every panel, etc from the vehicle. Here is the direct link to get you on your way:

Select the year (it doesn't matter as '08-'09's are identical). You want to refer to section IP. Starting on page 14 are the instructions on how to remove the panel. It simply pops off, but you need to use a thin pry bar and protect the surrounding area. See Pg IP-11 for tools.

Also, if you 'happen' to disconnect the passenger airbag warning light while removing the panel, you will trigger the warning light. The warning light will need to be reset by the dealer or via a scan tool. Word of advice: Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 5 minutes before starting. You can always reconnect the battery later (for testing) once you are sure the warning light is still connected.

You should also refer to section PWO which explains how to just remove the socket from the dash (without removing the whole panel). Also included are wiring diagrams with wire colors.

Let us know if you are having any more difficulty.

I don't recall the steps but I do recall being able to reset the airbag warning light myself. I'll have to dig around for instructions...

I recommend starting at the bottom of page 13. Removing the console finisher gives you a bit more room to work.

You can disconnect all the wires like I did but DO not turn on the car until everything is plugged back in again.
