I recently moved to North Dakota and am looking for some advice on a good block heater, options and what experiences anyone has had. I lived in Alaska for about 10 years so I know there are heating pads for oil pans, transmission pans , batteries, magnetic ones etc, I have not been able to find one for mine. My second question is where are they located and how much trouble are they to install, are the like the traditional older ones ( pop out a freeze plug and install)? Any advice or Part numbers much appreciated. I found this, not sure if it will fit my application. KATS - 11412
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

So is there anyone who has had any any experience with this block heater or any for that matter, I would be very grateful.
KATS 11412. I have looked here on the forum and can not find one single topic on block heaters which is hard to believe, not sure why or what I could be missing.

I wanted to share my finds in hopes of helping someone here in the future who might be in the position like I am now, trying to install a block heater without much info or help on the subject. The block heater size is 30mm, the OEM Nissan part numbers are as follows: Heater-Cylinder block Part #11001-6P70A ( $61.78)
Block-Heater Cord Part # 24076-3JA0A ( $149.73) I purchased mine locally at NAPA, it was the KATS brand which was $ 65 including cord. KATS makes good block heaters and they make all sorts of heating pads for oil pans, transmission pans, battery tray heater pad etc.
Location of the frost plug that must be removed (via unscrewed with a 1/2" drive 12mm Allen socket) is on passenger side DIRECTLY UNDER THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD and Right behind the Alternator, you can't miss it, there is a bolt right beside it which I believe is the drain bolt for draining the coolant in the block. You will need a 6 point 24mm socket to tighten the block heater plug. It is a bit of a messy job but well worth it to install the heater if you live in cold country where it dips well below 0* like here in ND.
