I recently purchased a 2009 Nissan Versa. It didn't come with a radio, but I found some 2007/2008 radios on ebay. Will these fit the 2009?

Do I need a dash kit to install these if they do fit? I've never installed a car radio before, but I'm sure it won't be that hard, I saw a guide on this site for how to do it.

Thanks for any help.

Should be all the same.

I'm not sure what is there on the cars that don't have a radio from the factory, so not sure what is needed to install.

Hi!!

They dealer lent me a 2009 Versa when mine went in for the fuel pump.

It did not have a radio wich made me laugh out loud. First of all, you will have the place to fit a stock versa radio in there, without needing any dash installation kit. If you buy an aftermarket radio, depending of the height of the unit you may need a kit.

I would be more worried about the wiring in there. I assume everything should be there and ready to wire a radio.

Good luck!

I know that it is prewired, just no radio. It's pretty dumb actually. I'm planning on buying a stock radio, so I guess I can go ahead and buy one of the 2007 or 2008 radios from ebay.

Good to know I don't need the dash installation kit. I guess if I get the radio and actually do need the kit I can always just order it.

Thanks for your help.

i guess thats the result of the versa being the cheapest car in 09'.my friend was looking into them but the cheapest ones come more stock than i even knew still existed.

Yeah, they really stripped. All I really care about is A/C and radio though. I purchased a radio from an 08 versa that should fit in just fine, so I'm happy with my cheapest car of 09. I had a Hyundai Accent that got totalled, and my payments and insurance are cheaper on this one.

Hey, I had a Hyundai Accent too before. It didn't get totalled, I just needed an upgrade, lol. My accent was hitting rock bottom at that point, there was no guts left in it. I love my Versa sooooooo much more!

I was gonna buy a stock one, but I wanted one I could connect my ipod to so I used the one from my old car. I hope your radio doesn't have the problems I have with my aftermarket one .

Factory Versa radio should install with no need for any adapters.

Remember that the '09 base model is a new step below the old S. This is the $10k Versa. You can optionally add a factory radio.

If the wires are in place it is a simple plug - n - play.

We up-graded our S with an SL Radio to keep it stock as it is living the college life with college kid & wanted to reduce theft.

Anyway (sorry a little of track) JUST DON'T UN-PLUG THE AIR BAG SWITCH WORK AROUND IT.

Find the thread on putting in a radio has great pictures and tips took me about half hour.I have average guy kind of mech/elec. abilities.

Good luck!

I did that because we needed all the room we could get because we hat to custom wire everything. ISn't there an easy way to fix the blinking though.

An after market unit will get you far better bang for the buck just need a wiring adapter.

If you just need a simple AM/FM stereo radio with CD you can have the "S" one that I replaced with an "SL" one cheep!

As it is just taking up space in the den closet. Just fifty bucks and the cost to mail it (no B.S. handling cost I have boxes & tape).

Dude, just get an aftermarket radio like a Kenwood, Alpine or Pioneer. It's so much better sound quality, you can't go wrong.

We upgraded the Radio in our "S" to an "SL" to keep it stock looking for a college campus.

If you just want a simple Stock AM/FM/CD (non mp3) we have our old (Never Used) one. How about $50.00 (no B.S. on S/H I have a box, tape, & packing). If you just want basic music this is fine. Not so good if your into Music and digital files.

Best Bang for buck would be an aftermarket head unit if you are into tunes.

Anyone who installed a radio in the 1.6 were the radio brackets in the car? I'm going to instal a avic-f700bt but I have no idea what mounting parts. The avic doesn't come with a mounting "cage" so it's called. Anyone know if I'm going to need that?

Since I have the radioless 1.6 I guess I'm going to have to buy the brackets for the new radio .

QUICK QUESTION (or 2...) - Just got a 2009 Versa sedan (no radio).

1) Would it have speakers in both the front and rear doors?

2) Are all the wires already run (behind the blank panel where the radio would go)?

Thanks in advance for any info.
