Is there a way to enable full use (such as when the vehicle is completely stopped) of the nav system when the car is being driven so that my passenger could access all the info/capabilities? Thanks.

speaking of navigation system, is it possible to upgrade my 09 murano SL with this system? Currently, I have everything installed except for Technology and Navigation.

Yes. If you are familiar with mobile audio installation, this is a very easy and cheap DIY project. You need to put a switch on the speed sensor wire and cut the parking brake wire to the head unit. Get a hold of the service manual to see which wires.

There is a nice write up here:

The other options is to install a Double Pole, Double Throw Switch (DPDT, available at Radio Shack) in between the VSS wire and the E-Brake wire going to the stereo head unit (AV Control Unit). This will allow you to use all Nav functions at the flip of a switch.

IMO, there is no need for a DPDT switch. The E-brake wire serves no other purpose going to the HU.

It is easier to just cut it and use a 2 position switch on the VSS wire which essentially toggles between full access (nav updates off) and normal nav use.

Lets put it this way.....

If you cut the E-Brake wire in addition to the VSS wire you will then be able to watch video on your front Navigation screen while you are driving either with your iPod or by installing a DVD player and sending the signal to the Audio/Video Inputs located on the back of your center console.

All make sense?
