I have noticed that it will do the one swipe routine almost every time when I pass under a bridge. It usually does this on bright sunny days and of course going under the bridge it is very shady, so I assumed that it was somehow related to the difference in a sensor going from a very bright situation to a dark situation, which surprised me sense I assumed that wipers would be activated by moisture.
I can understand them swiping if the rain sensor is turned on. The manual even lets you know that they may come on if there is dust on the windshield. However, living in Denver where rain is an infrequent event, I don't have the rain sensor turned on.
I called the dealer's service dept. today and they didn't have clue about this. They could not find any TSBs related to it either. I guess I'll pay more attention to the conditions when it occurs and then leave the car with the dealer for a little troubleshooting.
