I purchased this Murano one year ago, and for the most part, I'm pretty happy with it. However, shortly after purchasing
it, we started noticing a clunk that seems to emanate from the undercarriage, close to the accelerator. Generally, it will
do it when I back out of the garage, put the transmission in drive, and then accelerate normally. Lately, it seems to be
doing it more often, generally from a dead stop, when trying to accelerate normally (we tend to baby our cars). This is
a fairly significant clunk and can often detect it with your right foot as it rests on the floorboard.
I have had it in to the local dealer no less than four times, and the last time they brought in a factory rep, who kept
the car overnight. The next day he told me that they checked everything that it could be, but didn't find anything worn
or in need of attention. I can't always get the car to make the noise, especially when I'm at the dealership. However, he
said they got it to make the noise by stepping on the brake while trying to accelerate. He also stated that they even tested
a new Murano, and it made the same noise. Stupid me....I should have had him show me. I find it hard to believe, as I have
yet to see any other comments regarding this particular issue. Long story short, the noise is still there, I have been around the
auto industry a good portion of my life, and I know this is not normal. If it is, it seems to me that they have an engineering issue
that needs to be resolved. I'm hoping someone here has experienced something similar, or at least has some ideas as to the cause.
