Hi all Murano fans. Well I hit 42,460 miles today, and two weeks ago it had it's 42,250 mile inspection. Time for new brake pads all around and new wiper blades. So now i would like to talk about the 2009 SL Murano since the last post, almost 30,000 miles ago.
-Great hauler, carries and moved many kilos of equipment and yard scrapes
-Gas mileage finally settled down at 23 mpg with Premium
-Seats are broken in and very soft, not much wear on the leather, more on that later
-audio system needs one speaker replaced, no big deal
-steering seems loose, not very tight and almost electronic-? getting to feel like it's floating, suspension checks out fine
-carpet and interior has no issues
-Interior noise on highway over 75mph is bad, just had tires replaced and a little bit of difference
-several winters. front wheel drive. Honestly it was horrible, and I'm from Wisconsin and N.D. and never had a car so wishy-washy
-CVT. Something is going on, feels jerky at stops, fluids checked, no issues found
-Acceleration. Still there as if the first day of driving it, really gets up and goes!
-Was there every a trick to turn off the constant beep beep beep of the trunk?
-Great camping vehicle with plenty of sleeping room with the seats down
So the seats have forced me to look at the overall health of my wife and I. We both experienced back pain in the lower and mid level back (about 4-6 months into ownership), being both tall, me 6'6 and her being 5'11 the seats were not designed right. While the wider seat is nice the back and seat portion are way off, even with the lumbar engaged, we always spent the long trips 3-4 hrs (even with several breaks in-between) with lingering back pain for days afterward. We tried an extra pillow support with no help.
So now after 2.5 years I say goodbye to the Murano and moving onto an Audi Q5 loaded. This is truly a great forum with intelligent-articulate and caring members. Even though I used the forum as wealth of information I rarely participated, for that I am sorry. Take Care and good travels!
