I just had the 15K service done at the dealer where I bought my 2009 Murano and at that time they replaced the wipers blades with refills. I was killing time and wandered back to the parts desk where they quoted me $40 for replacement blades, so I just had them do the refills as that seemed a bit high to me. The rear wiper is now totally jacked and isn't wiping worth a diddly - it's as if the blade is floating above the glass or something. The front wipers are okay and seem to be like new again.

I'm going to buy some blades on the internet and wanted to confirm the right sizes for the front of the vehicle. Are they 26" (driver's side) and 16" (passenger's side)? Also, what is the inside scoop on changing out the back blade? Is there a special tool or do you just have to go to the dealer to have it done?

For the front, purchase the Rain-X Latitude blades. Those are perfect on the Murano! I am not sure on the rear blade, you may have to have that one done at the dealer.

Here is a link to the service manual, maybe this will help:http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/murano/2009/

Just curious what service (besides oil and air and in-cabin filters) was being done at only 15K? And that sounds early (but not super early) for wiper blades, depending on how much you use them of course. Especially for the rear one.

If your rear blade was working OK before the service, just take it back. Sounds like the dealer messed it up. I don't know about the 09's, but I know the blades (including the rear) on the 1st gens are super easy to change yourself. Considering dealer labor rates, how much they charge for the blades themselves, and how simple they are to change yourself, I doubt many people go to the dealer for them. The Gen 1 rear blade, however, IS a dealer item to buy. But some people have opted to just change the rubber insert so they don't have to buy the speciallized blade at the dealer (where it is about $18).

They changed the oil with full synthetic and went through that premium list of what you see as the highest of the 3 tiers in the owners manual. I'm a storm chaser so wiper blades that work perfectly is a necessity and an obsession with me. I don't want any streaking going on whatsoever. The rear blade is somewhat of an unusual animal and I did find a website where the instructions are posted, but it still looks like a PITA.

The problem with going back to the dealer is I bought the vehicle an hour north of Denver, so just to drive back for an $8 wiper insert would negate that as it would cost close to that in gas and time to drive up there. I'll probably just cruise into a dealer here in town and have them change the blade out for me.
